Formula One (game)
From WOI Encyclopedia Italia
Formula One is a series of computer and video games originally created by Psygnosis and more recently Studio Liverpool. It takes its name from the popular car racing series of the same name. Since 2001 the Formula One series has been made by Studio Liverpool (an internal Sony Computer Entertainment Europe game studio) with the FIA Official License. Sony has had an exclusive license to make Formula One games since 2003 releasing every year a new title which presents improvements to the graphics engine as well as an updated and complete F1 grid showing the latest liveries, chasis and drivers. The game originally was only released in europe in PAL format only but from recent years fully NTSC compatibility has been added.
Although Formula One series counts with the official licence from FIA it has failed to impress the most hardcore simulation race players.
